10. Peppermint mocha creamer.
9. Playing the CD that Stephen and I created a few years ago with all our favorite Christmas music. It's our Verner holiday soundtrack!
8. Watching "Elf" over and over and over again and laughing at the same parts every time! "Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?"
7. Singing on the worship team for VWC's Christmas Eve services and seeing over 1400 candles lit at the same time as our church celebrates the true reason for the season.
6. Reading the Christmas story from Luke 2 to our kids and realizing that I could probably quote it from memory! No matter how many times I've heard it before, I never get tired of it.
5. Shopping for coats, shoes, and toys for refugees that have very little and taking time out of our busy day of Christmas celebrations to share God's love with a family that is very far away from home.
4. Eating my mom's homemade lasagna on Christmas Day and reveling in time spent with family and friends that we may not be able to visit on Christmases in the future.
3. Watching our kids open presents on Christmas morning and seeing their excitement. They each have 3 presents under the tree every year - 1 from Santa and 2 from us. We do this in remembrance of the 3 presents Jesus received from the Wise Men.
2. Waking up next to my wonderful husband, Stephen, on Christmas morning and being able to share the special day with my favorite person in the world.
1. The knowledge that, although we celebrate Jesus's birth on Christmas, baby Jesus grew into a man, died on a cross, and was raised from the dead so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Lord, thank you for the ultimate Christmas gift!
Buon Natale from the Verner family!
