Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

The last couple of weeks have been a little bit of a whirlwind as baseball and then, soccer season started. This is Bryson's first year on an actual baseball team, even though the kid has been holding a ball and glove practically since birth! Stephen has the privilege of coaching Bryson's team this year, which we look at as not only a great father/son bonding experience, but also as ministry experience. Sports are huge in Italy and we have talked about the possibility of doing some sort of sports ministry there as a way to reach Italians.

Laynie is venturing out into soccer this spring, which is a new experience for all of us! This will also be a form of preparation for our missions work since soccer in Italy is kind of an obsession from what we've heard. None of us really know a lot about soccer (besides the obvious things like you can't use your hands and you're supposed to kick the ball into the goal), but we're looking forward to learning along with Laynie!

It's amazing to me as we walk along this missions journey how God uses EVERYTHING in your life to prepare you for the work He's called you to. Some of the preparation is not pleasant, but it's nice sometimes to enjoy the fun things that God uses to get us ready to follow Him. It's going to be a great season!
